9.5 Provision and Requirements of Vitamins following Preterm Birth
Vitamin (water or lipid soluble) provision for the preterm infant should be started in the first 24 hours after birth. Intravenous preparations are made following the current intake requirements to provide all the vitamins necessary to the preterm infant. Please refer to Table 7 for the current requirements and acceptable ranges of all vitamins discussed in this lesson.
